11:21 pm - Something You Won't See Everyday

Thanks to a bit of a server issue with Eldre'Thalas, there was a potential meeting of two characters. Pic Inside...Collapse )

10:02 am - Ragefire Chasm 2?

So, my new alt in BoK is ready to make a Ragefire Chasm run. Anyone feel like hopping down that bunnyhole with me again?

10:33 am - Start of Tabard Collection for BoK

Since Amath has sent me money towards the tabard, I guess I'll start the collection process, along with what I'd like to see from everyone.

We have, technically, 10 actual players in the guild. [I say technically because one has since closed his account, and another has focused on a character outside of both BoA and BoK.] If all were able to contribute, we'd be able to get away with a gold each. However, as I mentioned, 10 is only the "technical" number of people we have. So, therein lies the problem.

Even so, I do not want to obligate members to pay more than a gold for their share. So, if our active players can contribute at least a gold towards the design cost, I will work towards making up the difference. I will, of course, happily accept any contributions over a gold from members. But I don't want anyone to feel obligated to do so. Basically, any contributions over a gold will speed up the process, as it will be less money I have to farm from mobs and the AH. Once I have enough money set aside from farming and contributions I will get the ball rolling.

If you cannot contribute a gold now, that's fine as well. I know not everyone has a bunch of money saved up. Whenever or whatever you can contribute is fine with me. Just means the process will take a bit longer. :)

2:17 pm - WC Has Fallen. But Some of Us Need to Do It Again.

So, Saturday's Wailing Caverns Expedition was a resounding success. Three cloth wearers, 2 pets and a tank were able to push through the cavern in its entirety.

However, there are a few members in the guild that haven't gone through completely. [Surprisingly enough, a couple of them read this forum. :P ] And I know at least one of the people who went Saturday needs to do it again as well. [I wouldn't mind going to get the last few Deviant Hides. But I'm going to try soloing it for that.] So we should see about setting up another WC run for those who weren't able to go. What days are good for people?

Also, there are a couple other places to start looking at, now that people are hitting the 20's. Shadowfang Keep, out in Silverpine Forest, is a nice instance to go through. There is also Blackfathom Deeps up in Ashenvale. I know I would like to go through both these places sometime for a warlock-related quest. And both have cool quests of their own.

So, let's see what we can do. :)

3:24 pm - Tabards Part Two:

Okay, after figuring out and correcting why my computer was processing internet requests so slow [damn hackers and file sharers taking advantage of my unprotected FTP server] I can now show you some new proposed tabard pics for BoK. Warning, the pics are huge.

Enter If You Dare...Collapse )

2:34 pm - For those that don't read my LJ

Something that I am sure many of us have experienced.

12:35 pm - Wailing Caverns Trip

Unfortunately, Durnek will not be able to go to WC this weekend. :( But we should be able to get multiple groups up for this. So, I know I still want to shoot for this weekend, preferably sometime Saturday.

If you're interested, let us know when would be good for you.

12:03 pm - Tabard For BoK

As mentioned previously, the original concept for Blades of Kalimdor's tabard was to use the base design of Azeroth's tabard but change the colors to red-on-black. I found an online tool to toy with tabard designs for WoW and made a mock-up of the design, with a small modification.

Blades of Azeroth Tabard

Blades of Kalimdor Tabard

As you can see, I made a slight modification to the edges, to give them a more worn or less clean feel to them. I'd like to see how it looks in-play. Not sure how the black will look in terms of shading. Might want to go with more of a dark grey, to allow for WoW to apply some level of shading and make the tabard more realistic.

So, if there's anyone out there in BoK actually checking this journal out, let me know what you think. :P

rivalkeeper On the new server I am up to 22nd level on my mage. So most of the quests in the Barrens are either green or grey to me at this point. Not much to do there so I decided to move up to Ashenvale, (time to teach those damn night elves a lesson.. and to steal their brass poles so they will not be able to dance anymore).
I think whoever coded in the areas for horde in Ashenvale was either feeling vindictive or on crack. The horde have three small outposts in about as far spread areas as you can get. One is in Zoram's Strand (left edge of map). One is in Spintertree Post (which is middle of the map but there is no road to it, Have to head a small distance cross country) The third I have not been to yet but it is on the most right side of the map.
In Ashenvale there is also Blackfathom Depths. Another elite instance which the guild is getting close to the level range to do. We should keep the idea of doing this one at some point in the back of our heads. (also any locks in the guild will want to go here for one of their off hand item quests)

rivalkeeper I think its a good idea. Esp with the guild playing/having the abiity to play on two servers right now to have one center for information. That way we are all on the same page.

In regards to Wailing Caverns, I am up for it. I even removed the quests for this from my log so they would not be there to tempt me until the guild goes to do this.

Yes I do like the idea of switching to a lower pop server. I do not want to loose my level 43 warlock. Between getting to 43rd level AND breaking 240 enchanting (that is more work then its worth) if I cannot move the char to another server then I would not be moving to another server.

BTW. This is Grimnor.

9:36 am - Greetings and Initial Thoughts

Hello everyone. This is Xalin/Xanteria. The past couple of days I've noticed a bit more of a pressing need to have some better method of communication amongst us, in terms of coordinating schedules for group outings, bouncing ideas for the guilds and what-not. I know Gadroc/Durnek is working on a web site for us. And I have no desire for this to supplant that. I like the idea of us having a site of our own. This is just to fill in until then. Besides, it was Grimnor's idea. :P

To post new threads to the community you will need to have an LJ account. Fortunately, these are free of charge. If you don't feel like going through that rigamorole, though, I should have the community set to allow anonymous responses to posts on here. So feel free to just respond to this post [or others as they are made] to speak your piece. I only ask that you let us know who you are in the response.

That being said, some events and thoughts I've been thinking of:

  • After our successful run in Ragefire Chasm Saturday night there was some expressed interest in doing the same thing for Wailing Cavern, in the Barrens. WC is, roughly, the Horde equivalent of the VanCleef Deadmines instance. Or so I'm told. If you're interested in getting in one that let us know here, along with when would be good for you. I, personally, would like to shoot for friday night, saturday anytime, or sunday during the day. But I'd be willing to try for something outside of that window if necessary.

  • Server transfers: While this is not yet possible, I wanted to broach the subject on this beforehand. Grim and I were discussing what we'd do if and when Blizzard implements this ability. We were thinking that we should consider moving from Lothar to Eldre'Thalas or [if any new ones open] some low-pop server. But I wouldn't want to do that unless BoA was going to move as a whole. So, what is your interest level in doing something like that?

  • We're getting to the point, financially, where we all might be able to pool up some money to make our BoK tabard design. [At least, it seems that way to me until I go see my warlock and demon trainers. :P ] Initial concept for the design was to use the crossed-swords image from BoA, but to make the colors red-on-black. Of course, this is not set in stone.

I'm sure there were some other things. But I can't remember them at the moment. See you online. :)
